This is probably the most asked question from our customers.
DVD and CD media longevity is based on careful storage and other elements that will lengthen its lifespan.
There are many claims that the DVD/CD media will last for 50-100 years or even more.
These claims in some ways are true based on the testing that each Manufacturer uses to come to their conclusion.
AV Creative Media does not make this claim for any DVD Media or disc. We have seen data loss on DVD-R disks within 6 years.
We recommend that you transfer or make a copy of your data at least evey 5 years.
After burning and authoring DVD's for years; we can tell you the best option is to make back ups of your data as the years pass by.
There have been many reports by news outlets such as the New York Times and others on this subject.
We have posted a link to this article, which explains how to increase the lifespan of DVD/CD media.
